This is my interpretation of Daves response to a listers request for how to play the intro.(Dave's response is included below.)

E||---------------|---------------|--------------------------------------||
B||--1--3--5------|--1--3--5------|--1--3--5---3--------1----------------||
G||--0--0--0------|--0--0--0------|--0--0--0------4--------2-----2--4----||
D||--2--4--5------|--2--4--5------|--2--4--5---------5--------3----------||
A||---------------|---------------|--------------------------------------||
E||---------------|---------------|--------------------------------------||

Here's the way I play it:
An open A minor chord (muting the low & high E's) & leaving the g string open.
So basically, one finger on a C on the B string (first fret position) & the other finger
on an E on the D string (second fret).
With the open A string ringing, play that & slide that up 2 frets, then move it up another
fret while placing your finger on a G on the D string & on an E on the B string (both 5th fret position).

Slide that up again 2 more times & bring it down in reverse, the last time.

Then chord up & finger pick (from high to low) a 3 finger G chord, sliding down to an F with only the B, G & D strings,
finally sliding that 3 string chord, strummed, up from the F to the G.

You can also add the rest of the chord, or just the low E string part on the final F to the G.
I also add the 2nd on the top E string (using my thumb for the low E notes of the F & G chords & my pinky for the 2nd
on the high E string (while muting the A string).

Whew - That's it! (And very strange to explain).

Hope that makes sense.
